Century West Engineering, a premier Northwest civil and electrical engineering consulting firm, is looking for an to join our Coeur d’Alene, ID office next summer. As an electrical engineering , you will build design engineering and calculation skills for power systems, lighting, and control systems projects.

Candidates for our position should be:

  • Electrical Engineering majors currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited college or university
  • Incoming juniors or seniors with preference given to seniors
  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA
  • Future engineers who want to make a difference in their communities through public works projects

The selected will gain work-ready skills and an understanding of:

  • The work Century West does and our company values
  • What public works consulting is and how it differs from working for an agency or private development firm
  • The lifecycle of public works projects
  • Electrical Engineering design application and fundamentals in aviation, municipal, industrial, and commercial sectors.

Pay Scale: $25 per hour

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Staff Engineering Electrical to join our team for the summer of 2025. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of electrical systems and components for our projects in the professional, scientific, and technical services industry. You will work closely with our experienced engineers to gain hands-on experience and contribute to the success of our projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Enrollment in an accredited Electrical Engineering program
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles
  • Proficiency in electrical design software and tools
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative

Qualifications:

  • Experience with project management and leadership
  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards
  • Experience with electrical systems in the professional, scientific, and technical services industry

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and development of electrical systems and components
  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems and components
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success
  • Document and communicate project progress and results
  • Adhere to safety and quality standards

Skills:

As a Staff Engineering Electrical , you will utilize your strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and proficiency in electrical design software and tools to assist in the design and development of electrical systems and components. Your excellent communication and teamwork skills will be essential in collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project success. Additionally, your ability to work independently and take initiative will allow you to contribute to the success of our projects. Experience with project management and leadership, familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards, and experience with electrical systems in the professional, scientific, and technical services industry are qualifications that will further enhance your contributions to our team.
