Staff Geotechnical Engineer

AGS has an opening for a Staff Geotechnical Engineer.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting Senior Engineers with geotechnical calculations for liquefaction, slope stability, settlement, and seismic analysis utilizing various software such as Slide, LPile, AllPile, CLIQ, etc.
- Assisting Senior Engineers with geotechnical study report, proposals, RFI and submittals.
- Reviewing construction documents such as plans and specifications.
- Participate in field sampling and/or construction observation on job sites.
- Communicate with clients including project managers, government regulators, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED SKILLS
- 1-2 years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
- Basic understanding of soil mechanics, foundations, seismic designs, slope stability, and soil improvement.
- Minimum of BS degree; MS/PHD degree is a plus.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) Certificate or working towards acquiring.
- Ability to work well with others.
- US Driver’s License.
- US Citizenship or legal authorization to work in the US.
Typical tasks include performing geotechnical engineering calculations, fieldwork, and preparation of geotechnical reports and proposals. We seek flexible individuals who can comfortably perform a variety of tasks both in the field and in the office. The approximate office to field ratio is 90:10.
