Structural Engineer

They require an experienced Structural Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will be responsible for designing masonry support systems in line with current standards, performing load assessments, and specifying both standard and custom products. Key Responsibilities Design masonry supports and lintels in compliance with current standards. Design special steel lintels and windposts, producing detailed drawings and sketches using AutoCAD and Solidworks. Conduct load assessments based on architects' and structural engineers' drawings using 'BS5977-1: Method for assessment of load. Perform spot checks during manufacturing to ensure structural integrity. Provide internal and external technical customer service. Attend design meetings and site visits to develop and maintain client relationships. Gather data and prepare structured technical reports on site findings. Manage multiple projects with a proactive, client-focused approach. Deliver product presentations to train staff, customers, and site installers. Requirements: Degree: 2:1 in an engineering-related discipline (e.g., Structural or Civil Engineering). Design Software Expertise: Proficient in AutoCAD and Solidworks for creating detailed drawings. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of masonry support and lintel design in line with current standards. Load Assessment: Experience conducting load assessments using BS5977-1 and performing calculations, including FEA. Quality Assurance: Ability to perform spot checks during production to ensure structural integrity. Customer Service: Strong technical support skills for internal and external stakeholders. Communication: Excellent skills for attending meetings, site visits, and building client relationships. Reporting: Competence in gathering data and producing clear technical reports. Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects efficiently. Training Skills: Experience delivering product presentations and training sessions. Attention to Detail: High accuracy in specifying and ensuring compliance with design specifications.
