Structural Engineer

Essential Functions:Self-perform and assist Project Engineers in completing analysis/design computations;Oversee preparation of contract drawings and specifications for structural analysis;Assist in proposal development;Perform structural calculations, design and detailing for structural building elements;Review and interpret technical documents and designs;Review and evaluate building codes and product specifications to inform designs and analyses with local wind loads;Correspond directly with clients, design professionals and contractors when necessaryPerform field visits to document and evaluate existing conditions and ongoing construction;Author technical reports and project correspondence;Attend and participate in meetings with clients and other design professionalsSelf-perform and assist Project Engineers in completing analysis/design computations;Oversee preparation of shop drawings and project structural design specifications;Size steel and components for internal structure subpart of Curtain Wall and StorefrontAll other duties as assigned by Middlesex Glass Company.Requirements and Qualifications:                                                                                            MA Professional Engineer License required, NH preferred;5+ years Structural Engineering experience in the construction industry. Glass experience a plus;Strong proficiency with AutoCAD required;The ability to constantly multi-task and handle competing priorities between Middlesex business needs, organizational issues, and maintain sound customer relations while providing outstanding customer service necessary;A strong sense of urgency and initiative with a can-do attitude a must;Be team a player with the ability to be diplomatic, take direction, work under pressure and tight deadlines;Flexibility to shift work priorities and adapt to an ever-changing environment;Accommodate operational and business needs as needed;Learn and be competent in new software as required by MGC.Non-Essential Functions:Attends periodic staff meetings and training sessions;Complies with dress code, proper paperwork procedures, prompt follow-up communications and departmental policies.Powered by JazzHR
