Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Structural Engineer/Analyst to join our innovative team. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in Simcenter 3D and Nastran with a strong background in finite element analysis, including design optimization, fatigue analysis, and test correlation especially as it relates to high-speed jet aircraft.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform structural analysis using Simcenter 3D and Nastran, focusing on static and dynamic loads, fatigue analysis, and durability assessments.
- Correlate strength and fatigue test data with FEA results to validate and refine simulation models and ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Determine loads, constraints, and applicable use cases to ensure structural integrity and performance of the complete aircraft.
- Develop high-quality and efficient meshing and geometry simplification to improve solve time without sacrificing accuracy.
- Conduct fatigue analysis to predict the lifespan and failure modes of structural components and provide insight for design and durability improvements.
- Utilize design optimization techniques to enhance the performance and efficiency of aerospace systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate optimization results into the overall design process.
- Assist in the design of experiments for structural and material testing and validation to ensure designs perform under various conditions.
- Provide recommendations for material selection including treatments and processes for improved performance.
- Analyze and resolve design issues, offering innovative solutions to engineering challenges.
- Contribute to process improvements and best practices within the design and development team.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on analysis results, design recommendations, and project progress for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Education:Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in the aerospace industry.
- Proven experience with Simcenter 3D and Nastran FEA analysis of static, dynamic, and fatigue load cases.
- Strong understanding of fatigue analysis principles and methodologies.
- Experience in correlating structural test data with FEA results.
- Expertise in design optimization and topology techniques.
- Experience:
- Proficiency with Siemens development ecosystem and workflow between NX, STAR-CCM+, and Simcenter 3D with Nastran.
- Agile Development using Jira Sprint Methodology.
- Familiarity with the Teamcenter PLM environment.
- Analytical Skills:Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical data and provide effective solutions.
- Communication:Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present and document technical information to various stakeholders.
- Team Player:Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
