This opportunity will enable you to enjoy a fast-paced environment working on projects of all sizes and complexities!EAD Engineering is looking for a Structural Engineering Manager with thorough knowledge of structural design and engineering techniques to lead/work closely on assigned projects from planning, preliminary design, front end engineering, preparation of drawings and tender documents, tender evaluation, project management, contract administration, construction support, liaison with local authorities and as-built documentation. This person will follow and revise processes and procedures, and as the department grows; professionally and efficiently lead and manage a team of structural engineers and designers, providing superior technical knowledge and designs while consistently achieving overall department personnel growth and profitability.ResponsibilitiesProvide and oversee effective structural engineering designs to meet industry standards and client requirementsAssist in the continuous improvement of policies and procedures to maintain the company's competitive position and profitabilityAnalyze project specifications to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for structural engineering bids and for comprehensive engineering proposalsPlan and conduct independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteriaDevise new approaches to problems, and prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs, and monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and EAD standardUse computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering design documentsPerform field activities such as observe and record existing field conditions, take and verify measurements within project areaEnsure that on-site construction works are carried according to local regulations and requirementsCoordinate work with other disciplines such as architectural, mechanical, electrical, civil, process, and controlsHandle routine contract administrationManage and perform projects in a fast-paced environmentTime manage and prioritize tasks to achieve results within cost and schedule constraintsInterface with clients, utility companies, construction administrators, contractors, and vendorsDevelop and cultivate professional relationships for business opportunitiesManage the daily operating/personnel activities of the structural departmentEffectively build, lead, direct, mentor, and motivate a team of structural engineers and designers with regard to skill development and professional growth with a goal of coaching staff to obtain S.E. or P.E.Perform other related duties as assignedRequirements:Bachelor of Science degree in Structural or Civil Engineering and ten years of relevant working experience with advanced knowledge in structural engineering, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experienceLicensed structural or professional engineer with the ability to be licensed in multiple states AutoDesk Robot finite element analysis software or equivalent experience. Comprehension and application of industry standard codes5 years of experience as a project engineer or group leaderEngineering consulting firm experience Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, while being capable of interacting effectively with plant operations from the maintenance level through and including the executive levelStrong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently to meet tight schedules and deadlinesMust have a proven track record of accomplishments as a lead engineer on industrial projects and be capable of supervising and directing a team of engineersSelf-starter with strong attention to detailAbility to multi-task while working on numerous projects simultaneouslyComputer proficiency with Microsoft Office requiredPreferred Certifications and skills:Experience in working with multi-discipline projects with Food and/or Pharmaceutical Clients, construction of large industrial plants, or power stations will be advantageousWorking Conditions:Office, construction site, and plant environmentAbility to sit and work at computer for extended periods of timeAbility to walk up and down numerous flights of steps/ladders multiple times a day, in extreme temperatures and all kinds of weatherAbility to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.Periodic weekend or evening work as neededTravel required*EAD will provide training, administrative/engineering controls, and personal protective equipment as necessary.We strongly believe that diversity of experience, perspectives, and background will lead to a better workplace for our employees and a better product for our customers.EAD is an Equal Opportunity Employer - Minorities/Females/Disabled/Veterans
