Job Summary: The Fitter, under the direction of the Production Supervisor, is responsible for fitting, joining, fabricating, and repairing metal and other weldable materials. This role focuses on laying out and assembling subunits for welding, ensuring that products meet job specifications and quality standards. Fitters specialize in working with transmission power poles, substation A-Frames, high mast poles, highway sign poles, and other tubular structures.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years of fitter experience or equivalent.
• Experience with overhead and jib cranes is essential.

Hours:

• 5:30 PM to 3:00 AM

Qualifications:

• Proficient in reading blueprints, welding symbols, and diagrams.
• Skilled in using welding equipment, including torches and grinders.
• Experience working in extreme temperatures.
• Ability to work 2nd shift, and overtime as needed.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Pole work experience .
• Must pass a fitter test, background check, and physical.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fit, join, fabricate, and repair metal and weldable materials.
• Set up and lay out work using jigs, fixtures, or hand layouts.
• Fabricate multi-component parts and perform cross-training for other tasks.
• Safely operate equipment and perform equipment maintenance.
• Adhere to safety protocols and report equipment issues.

Working Conditions:

• Full-time in a shop environment, standing for 8-10 hours per day.
• Must lift/move up to 75 lbs regularly.
• Frequent standing, bending, stooping, and kneeling required.
• Must wear OSHA-required PPE, including a welding hood if welding.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $28.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
