Structural Hull Engineer
Job Description Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Structural Hull Engineer to join the team, contributing expertise and knowledge within the Structural Hull discipline, particularly focusing on FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) and FLNG (Floating Liquefied Natural Gas) products. Your role will involve ensuring high-quality, cost-effective designs and actively participating in proposals and pre-FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) studies for new concepts and technology developments. Key Responsibilities: Conduct structural integrity assessments for tanker conversions and new hull constructions in FPSO and FLNG projects. Develop and analyze structural and naval designs for tanker conversions and new hulls. Support technology development initiatives for FPSO, FLNG, and renewable energy projects. Assist in the selection and evaluation of tankers for conversion to FPSO or FLNG units. Coordinate and create detailed 3D structural models and drawings for marine equipment. Perform offshore inspections and provide support during shipyard conversion and construction projects. Requirements MSc or BSc degree (or equivalent professional certification) in Offshore Structures, Naval Architecture, or a related field, specializing in structural analysis. 4 to 5 years of relevant experience in structural design, particularly in the maritime or offshore industry. Proficiency in structural analysis and design of hull structures. Familiarity with classification society rules (ABS, DNV GL, BV, Lloyds). Experience in the engineering and design of floating units in the oil and gas industry. Ability to tackle challenging tasks with urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm. Effective planning and prioritization skills to meet project and organizational goals. Resilience and adaptability in overcoming project challenges. Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an engineering or information sciences subject (or demonstrate relevant experience and skills). Minimum of 3 years of experience in information management. Excellent communication skills. Experience with or knowledge of EPC projects, offshore wind, BIM, Python, ontologies, industry standard ontologies (CFIHOS, IEC CIM, ISO 15926), data architecture, enterprise architecture, reference design systems (RDS), and APIs are a plus.
