The Structural Division
The Structural Division specializes in comprehensive structural engineering planning and design services, including structural assessments and forensics investigations. Their engineers have extensive experience and knowledge of structural engineering services for education, commercial, , healthcare, sports & entertainment, hospitality, retail, and federal/government. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The Project Manager will operate independently but remain under the direct guidance of the Engineer of Record for each project. Responsible for overseeing the structural team's engineering and drafting tasks, they will offer structural design expertise to both internal team members and external disciplines such as architecture and MEP. The role involves managing project coordination tasks internally and externally, acting as the primary liaison. Additionally, the Project Manager will lead the project through the Construction Administration Phase, overseeing shop drawings, RFIs, site visits, and OAC meetings.

- Engage actively in coordination meetings with diverse disciplines and participate in design review sessions with supervisors, clients, and owners.

Attend work sessions with owner-client agencies to discuss project scope and our innovative structural design approach.

Efficiently coordinate the design and documentation process, ensuring timely completion of construction documents within project schedules and budget constraints.

Author and meticulously maintain structural specifications, determining materials, member sizes, and conducting calculations for optimal design.

Conduct thorough reviews of shop drawings, respond to RFIs (requests for information), manage change proposal requests and change orders, seamlessly incorporating modifications into project documents.

Leverage strong written and verbal communication skills to convey design and coordination details to project team members, while also producing defensible engineering reports, memos, and email correspondence.

Conduct insightful site observations and walks during construction, providing valuable input and authoring comprehensive reports based on observations.
Education and Work Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a Structural emphasis; Master’s degree .

Structural Engineering license (S.E.) in the state of residence, if applicable.

Minimum 5+ years of full-time progressive structural engineering experience.

Three or more years of experience in leading multi-discipline project teams .

Strong understanding of state building codes and applicable design codes (ASCE, AISC, ACI, MSJC, NDS, etc.).

Proficiency in structural engineering and office tools: ETABS, SAFE, RISA, RAM, ENERCALC, Excel, Bluebeam, etc.

Proficiency in designing various structural materials: steel, concrete, masonry, wood, etc.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Additional Notes
While the majority of their projects focus on K-12, their portfolio extends to encompass higher education, government buildings, sports facilities, fire stations, and modifications to existing structures. While expertise in educational projects are advantageous qualities in potential candidates, they also welcome individuals with a strong academic background and relevant experience in general building design in Texas.
