Student Information System Engineer
Purpose of the Position:
The Student Information System (SIS) Engineer plays a pivotal role in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of SIS solutions. Your mission is to support key strategic and operational initiatives by ensuring that end-user needs for SIS solutions are met. Collaborating closely with technical teams and business stakeholders, the SIS Engineer navigates the intricate landscape of technology and business acumen. Their critical combination of technical expertise and tactful business-facing skills enables seamless day-to-day management of the SIS platform.
What you'll do:
1. Technical Solutions: Develop and maintain technical solutions to respond to business needs using Workflows, SQL and custom code.
2. Issue Resolution: Collaborate with business partners to understand and address business issues promptly.
3. Stakeholder Communication: Provide clear communication to stakeholders, including customer support for existing tools and integrations with other vendor solutions.
4. Configuration Management: Actively engage in and rigorously test configuration of business rules, new Programs/Courses, Financial Aid and User Permissions.
5. Documentation: Create detailed documentation for new processes and technical solutions.
6. Vendor Management: Manage vendor communications and build strong partnerships with third-party partners related to the SIS platform.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Experience:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years' experience in systems configuration, analysis, and solutions development.
• 3+ years' experience in education technology preferably in higher education.
• 3+ years' experience across various functional groups such as Academics, Marketing, Advising, Finance, etc.
• 4+ years' experience with ERP/SIS systems, particularly, Anthology Student.
• Experience with web services APIs.
• Experience with MSSQL.
• Knowledge/Experience working with cloud offerings such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
• Skills – sound judgement/decision-making, influencing, organization, adaptability, service , interpersonal skills, and teamwork.
• Ability to professionally communicate fluently in verbal and written English.
• Ability to support a diverse and inclusive work environment.
• Computer literacy/basic computer skills to effectively navigate and utilize the technology required for the role.
Requirements:
• Any advanced degree or equivalent work experience, especially in an IT-related field.
• 4-5+ years' experience and/or strong or advanced proficiency in any of the above required skills.
• LMS experience with Brightspace/D2L, primarily from an Integrations perspective.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other business tools such as Microsoft Teams.
• Other skills or abilities – business acumen, cost consciousness, integrity/respect, strategic thinking, follow-through, vision, and complex problem-solving.
Compliance:
• Demonstrate knowledge of, and carefully follows all applicable state laws and rules, federal and state compliance requirements and regulations including those prescribed by the U.S. Department of Education, accrediting agencies, state regulations and internal policies and procedures.
• Effectively communicate compliance requirements to other staff as appropriate and quickly escalate any compliance concerns to the Compliance department.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
• This is a full-time remote position.
• Home office set up, quiet place to work, ability to be on camera, and ability to hard wire into high-speed internet connection.
• May require setup of computer equipment; accommodation consideration available upon request.
