This Substation Inspector will report to the field staff supervisor and will work within Network Operations based in our Central London, Covent Garden office. You will be a permanent employee in our UK Power Networks team.
You will attract a salary of £38,892 + benefits and a bonus of 3%.

Main Job Purpose:
To work as part of a team or as a lone worker, in the London geographical area, carrying out the full range of responsibilities associated Inspections at voltages to 11kv.
Principal Accountabilities:
Inspection & Non Intrusive Diagnostic Testing of all plant and apparatus associated with the Primary Distribution network.
Fault location and repair of minor plant defects associated with the Distribution network.
Ensure that all staff for which you is responsible work to the DSR and to demonstrate a safety culture
Take Oil Samples for diagnostic testing from HV Plant.
Use IT equipment
Supervise Maintenance/Construction staff within their working party.
To be prepared to assist other sections e.g. organisational changes, system emergencies etc as determined by your experience.
Nature & Scope
This position has been classified as a Specified Role and is subject to pre-appointment drug screening observing the UK Power Networks policy on Alcohol & Drugs".
The person undertaking this role will play an important role in the safe completion of the Inspection and Maintenance up to and including 11kv in the London Region. You may work at any location within the UK Power Networks area.
You will work either alone or as part of a team of Inspectors that report to an Inspection Supervisor and have the support of experienced Field Engineers.
