Summer 2025 | Environmental Co-op – Natural Heritage

Job Description Our Environmental Co-op Student will have the opportunity to work within our growing Earth and Environment team in Southwestern Ontario. They will participate and support projects as a part of our Natural Heritage team and will have the opportunity to collaborate with and learn from our expert biologists, environmental professionals, and field technicians. The team’s work focuses on the delivery of natural heritage reports for a variety of projects supporting other CIMA+ sectors (energy, waterpower, transportation, land development, etc.) as well as for both public and private clients.   Primary responsibilities   Conduct field inventories for birds, herpetofauna, fish, and flora.  Draft Environmental Impact Studies, Environmental Management Plans, and ecological inventories.  Participate in the analysis of alternatives and assess and rank their potential to impact natural heritage features.  Assist in the development of site appropriate avoidance and mitigation measures.  Complete requests for authorizations and permits under the Endangered Species Act, or Species at Risk Act, for both small and large-scale projects.    Qualifications Student presently enrolled in a program with a focus on the natural environment (e.g. Biology, Ecology, Environmental Studies)  Team player and ability to work within a diverse team  Access to a vehicle  Valid Canadian Driver’s Licence    The salary for this position ranges from $22.00 to $24.15 per hour, depending on your academic profile, the number of credits earned, and your previous co-op or internship experience.
