Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Division Manager and working cooperatively with Project Managers on the jobsite and/or in the office, this is a temporary position involving various duties that permit exposure to the student's field of study and/or provide experience that is a useful addition to the student's education and meaningful preparation for future professional employment.
The primary objective of the internship is to prepare the student for future leadership positions within the construction industry both in and out of the field. The student will have the opportunity to observe and participate in all aspects of construction management that are typically encountered. This will include field work, field supervision and project management job shadowing. Certain aspects of the internship will be tailored based upon a student's previous experience or exposure to the construction industry.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an Engineering or Construction Management curriculum
- Experience with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook is required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills is required
- Attention to detail and the ability to exercise good professional judgment is required
- Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management regarding project activity is required
