Position Summary:

The Power & Propulsion Engineering position supports a variety of Electrical Engineering tasks and projects to meet customer and technical requirements.

Position Responsibilities:

Day-to-day activities 90%

  • Will assist engineering team in a variety of capacities.
  • Assist with the development of processes and procedures.
  • Provide Electrical design support for Space-qualified hardware
  • Write scripts that will assist in the rapid trending of recorded test data across multiple power hardware units
  • Support power subsystem and component testing
  • Support Engineering as needed.
  • Responsible to communicate regularly and report to the Electrical Power Engineering Manager on work in process and the status of assigned projects.
  • Will participate in AIRBUS U.S. team meetings.
  • May assist in development of spreadsheets and reports.
  • Research new projects and ideas as directed.
  • Perform support with special projects to meet deadlines as required.

Qualifications / Experience / Skills / Training:

Education:

  • Currently enrolled in or having received an undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university majoring in science, technology, engineering or related field.
  • Possess an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

Required:

  • Basic data entry or word processing skills.
  • Demonstrate high level of accuracy of work.
  • Must be dependable with attendance and follow instructions and directions accurately.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize and plan work activities.
  • Exhibit flexible attitude and approach to assignments.
  • Basic knowledge on Python is a plus

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • Must be proficient with MS Office Suite

Travel Required:

  • 0% travel required

Citizenship:

  • U.S. Citizenship

Nature of Contacts:

  • Moderate Communication on a daily basis with internal and external parties.

Physical Requirements:

  • Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents.
  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds including safety warnings or alarms.
  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations, deliver information and participate in communications.
  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment
  • Carrying: able to carry documents, electronic equipment and/or supplies up to 40lbs/9kg
  • Lifting: able to lift documents, electronic equipment and/or supplies up to 40lbs/9kg.
  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas.
  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer.
  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves
  • Standing: able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Walking: able to walk through office and outside areas including uneven surfaces.
