Senior Quality Engineer



The candidate will act as a liaison between the two supplier sites, lead the resolution of quality issues, and ensure all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the process.



The Opportunity



Our client is seeking a dedicated Supplier Quality Engineer to join the team. This role will involve ensuring the quality of components and assemblies supplied by external vendors, with a particular focus on a collaborative project with an automotive components supplier. Our client will produce dynamically and electrically functioning chassis ('rollerskate') and send them to the supplier for the addition of Powertrain, interior, exterior, and other finishing processes.



Roles & Responsibilities of the Supplier Quality Engineer



* Develop and implement quality control processes, conduct audits, assess supplier capabilities, and monitor performance to ensure compliance with company standards.



* Oversee and confirm G&F checks on painted bodies in Gaydon, aligning initial activities with supplier.



* Lead the charge with any issues or addressing problems - conduct root cause analysis for supplier or part issues, escalating to relevant teams, and leading problem-solving activities using 8D methodologies.



* Review and ensure resolution of issues during offtracks processes (water test, rolling road, road test, EOL audit, and wheel alignment).



* Remotely monitor CPA/Final buy-off issues in Gaydon, maintaining communication with CPA Auditor/Project Lead, and ensuring corrective actions by supplier.



* Ensure timely submission and compliance of PPAP elements (IMDS, PQS, PDS, PAW) by supplier.



The Ideal Candidate:



The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of ensuring rigorous quality standards are met throughout the production process. They will serve as the primary point of contact for the project team, liaising with our client for feedback and ensuring supplier quality standards are upheld consistently. The role is based in Gaydon.



* Proven quality assurance experience within the automotive industry, preferably in a supplier quality role.



* Knowledge of whole vehicle builds and the pros and cons of carbon fiber.



* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.



* Ability to lead problem-solving activities and engage all relevant stakeholders.



* Knowledge of IMDS and measurement support.



* Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.



* Certifications in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO 9001) are highly desirable.
