Supplier Quality Engineer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Lead the overall SQA functions for all facilities including incoming inspection, issue containment and supplier actions.
· Ensure suppliers meet all contractual requirements and maintain 100% compliance to all specifications.
· Coordinate with Program Quality Engineers the development of first article inspection criteria and inspection tooling required for verification including evaluating initial contract and technical data packages for determination of all requirements and special needs.
· Work directly with suppliers to dramatically improve overall product quality. Drive improvements to their overall quality systems.
· Drive issue resolution with suppliers, engineering and manufacturing.
· Oversee the supplier qualifications for becoming and maintaining Approved Supplier status.
· Coordinate, track and analyze the supplier rating (report card) processes.
· Conduct supplier on-site audits as required for resolution of concerns, overall systemic improvements and as needed training of inspectors and technicians.
· Write technical and management systems reports.
· Maintaining controls and documentation procedures.
· Liaison with suppliers for all quality related matters including auditing, corrective actions, compliance reporting, etc.
· Coordinate supplier corrective actions for root cause determination and application of effective actions.
· Monitor supplier performance and conduct analysis for identification of adverse trends by gathering data and producing statistical reports.
· Organize and manage quality assurance function in close cooperation with the supplier and company management teams.
· Collating and analyzing supplier performance data and charts against defined parameters.
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
· Bachelors Degree in an applied science or engineering field or equivalent experience.
· Minimum 5 years experience in quality assurance.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Statistical Process Control software.
· Experience in quality management systems (ISO/AS).
· Experience in quality system auditing.
· Desire to own decisions and take responsibility for outcomes.
· Must be willing to travel, possible 40% travel time required.
· Use and or knowledge of metrology instruments, to include CMM and Optical Comparator.
