Supply Chain Manager

Seeking a Supply Chain Manager in the Northwest area of Houston to manage all aspects of the supply chain including but not limited to, materials management, inventory management, procurement, and strategic supply chain development.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Supply Chain Manager:

  • Ensure cost effective materials of quality are available when required
  • Continually review supply base
  • Lead supplier selection and contract negotiations
  • Identify and execute cost savings opportunities to improve product margins
  • Ensure appropriate levels of inventory to support production schedules, lead times, and customer commitments, while reducing surplus materials
  • Develop and implement S&OP process to ensure alignment between demand, supply, and financial plans
  • Manage supplier performance using KPIs such as supplier on time delivery, number of NCRs, etc.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure best terms are negotiated, high-cost components are replaced with qualified lower cost alternatives, and orders are on schedule
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders
  • Some travel within America required
  • Other duties as required

Skills and Abilities:

  • Material management and planning and a proven track record of achieving world class customer service while reducing surplus inventory and cost
  • High- level negotiation skills
  • Experienced with purchasing and sourcing
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, ideally SAP, and specifically supply chain management systems is required
  • Excellent communication skills when speaking to customers, coworkers, and high level executives

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s in Supply Chain Management, Business, Management, or other related
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Strategic, Operations, and Tactical Procurement and Supply Chain Management Principals and Fundamentals
  • Experience is S&OP processes and forecasting models to anticipate future demand
