Client: Oil & Gas Operator / E&P
Our client an Oil & Gas Operator is seeking an experienced Surveillance Engineer to join their team for a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit offshore West Africa. The Surveillance Engineer will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing the production performance of the FPSO, ensuring the efficient and safe extraction of hydrocarbons. This role involves close collaboration with the operations, reservoir, and production teams to maximize asset value.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Monitoring and Analysis:
o Continuously monitor and analyze real-time production data to identify trends, variances, and potential issues in the FPSO operations.
o Develop and implement surveillance strategies to optimize production rates while maintaining reservoir integrity.
o Provide daily, weekly, and monthly production reports with detailed analysis and recommendations for improving performance.
Optimization of Production Systems:
o Work closely with the operations team to optimize the performance of wells, flowlines, separators, and other production systems.
o Identify opportunities for production enhancement through well interventions, process adjustments, or equipment upgrades.
o Develop models and simulations to predict the impact of different operational scenarios on production.
Collaboration and Coordination:
o Collaborate with reservoir engineers to align production strategies with reservoir management goals.
o Coordinate with the operations team to implement production optimization initiatives and troubleshoot any production-related issues.
o Liaise with contractors and service providers to ensure the delivery of high-quality surveillance and monitoring services.
Compliance and Reporting:
o Ensure all surveillance activities comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
o Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation of all surveillance activities, analyses, and optimization efforts.
o Report any deviations or non-conformance issues to management and recommend corrective actions.
Risk Management:
o Conduct risk assessments related to production operations and surveillance activities, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
o Participate in safety drills and ensure that surveillance activities adhere to safety protocols.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
o Minimum of 8 years of experience in production engineering, reservoir engineering, or surveillance engineering within the oil and gas industry.
o Previous experience working on an FPSO or offshore platform is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in production surveillance tools and software (e.g., PI, OFM, SCADA systems).
o Strong understanding of production optimization techniques, well performance analysis, and reservoir management.
o Experience with flow assurance, artificial lift systems, and well intervention strategies.
Certifications:
o Relevant certifications in production engineering, surveillance technologies, or reservoir management are preferred.
o Offshore safety training certifications (e.g., BOSIET, HUET) are required.
