Job Title:
Survey Instrument Operator, Field and Construction Surveyor, Survey or Civil Engineering Technician
Performs all aspects of assigned survey field and/or office duties with help from other team members. Collaborates with other technicians and/or the survey Crew Chief to help ensure that field or office projects are completed correctly to company standards. Communicates clearly with others and can complete assigned tasks with the ability to learn and improve. Must have a driver's license and the ability to pass a drug test.

Requirements:
Field Duties
Completes assigned survey tasks while complying with established field survey procedures using total stations, survey data collectors, GPS, and other survey equipment, ensuring that the field data is in the proper format.
Provides documentation with photos or sketches to assist with office processing of the data.
Thoroughly understands the scope of the project from the project supervisor before starting work.
Reports to and communicates daily with the survey manager or project leader.
Keeps clear and accurate field notes.
Communicates with the survey supervisor to report any problems or delays.
Performs sufficient checks in the field to assure set control and points are within positional tolerance needed for the task.
Uses proper safety equipment and follows proper field safety procedures.
Responsible for the safety and care of all crew members, vehicles, and equipment, and the public's interest.
Attempts to resolve project-related needs such as equipment, vehicle maintenance, special equipment requirements, or other issues and contacts their supervisor for problems needing help.
Portrays a professional appearance by wearing appropriate clothing for the work environment and assures other crew members do also.
Trains and mentors junior Survey Technicians.
Reviews and verifies that all field work needed on-site was performed to standards to meet job requirements.
Performs other assigned duties in a professional manner.
Office Duties
Perform office CAD processing work in support of survey operations.
Perform record research when needed.
Perform CAD drafting or prepare reports from field data.
Perform other office or field duties as they develop and/or are assigned.
Physical/Other Requirements
Must have a valid driver's license and safety record and be able to safely drive a company vehicle to project jobsites.
Must have or be able to get an OSHA 10 Construction card and know construction and general safety.
Must be able to communicate well with others.
Must be able to stand and walk through rough terrain and carry equipment that can weigh up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and scaffolds and work in a busy environment or construction site.
Must be able to wear protective equipment when needed.
