Join us now!What you will doElectromobility is one of the main development areas within Volvo Group Truck and was created to be in the forefront of electrified transport solutions for a more sustainable tomorrow.We are responsible for the transition from conventional powertrains to electromobility and to secure a stepwise implementation in different segments/regions. We develop and drive the electromobility product portfolio for Trucks and Buses as well as creating opportunities for all business areas within Volvo Group. Electromobility is a growing agile driven organization in place to shape the future!The importance of electromobility is growing every day and a key component within the electrified powertrain is the Energy Storage System. We are accountable for the lifecycle management of the Energy Storage System, from advanced engineering, throughout product development into the maintenance phase. We are responsible to develop the complete Energy Storage Systems functionality realized by hardware and software solutions. You will be part of an agile and approachable organization with skilled product teams consisting of passionate people.Who are you?You will be part of the Energy Storage Systems team. We are working in a cross-functional way from requirement, concept and design, final verification, implementation in production and aftermarket. We are expanding and are recruiting a System engineer with a technical lead profile. You will work in the early phases of the concept design and throughout product development including maintenance. You will be responsible for requirement specifications, collecting and breakdown of stakeholders needs. You will together with the product teams and attribute owners define the system design to meet the requirements. You will have an important role in balancing the technical solution and support for verification. You will be involved in technical decisions towards projects and suppliers, making sure that we continuously improve the quality.Ready for the next move?We believe that to be successful in this position, you like to take the technical lead and are a team player that loves to develop system design with the customer in focus. Since the area is in an early phase, it is important that you are flexible and enjoy working in a changing environment. You have a broad knowledge and experience of both electrical and mechanical development. Confident in leading system solution towards suppliers and product teams. We also believe that you feel comfortable of owning and taking responsibility of your system and do so with great attitude.We believe that you have:• Min. five years of experience from System design and architecture within automotive systems.• Min. three years’ experience of battery technologies/systems within the application of electric vehicles. As well as a wide understanding of the electrical, mechanical, safety and functional building blocks.• You can collect, define, and drive the system solutions and requirement work in the organization. Strong ability to communicate, coach and support key stakeholders for common goals. • Master of Science in Mechatronics, Electrical, Physics or similarMeritorious• Experience from design within Energy Storage Systems.• Experience in defining requirements and balancing requirements between stakeholders and technical solution.• Experience working with Agile principles• Volvo Group Development process, KOLA, systems• Have a technical lead profile.
