Systems Development Engineer

Systems Development Engineer Location: Kraków (hybrid) Client’s profile: A worldwide leader in providing cutting-edge and sustainable mobility solutions for the automotive industry.   Key Responsibilities: Led the technical development of system features in collaboration with cross-functional teams, component leads, and customers. Negotiate technical requirements, project scope, and subcontract deliverables for system features. Utilize expertise to drive and communicate system-level requirements and architectural proposals. Ensure designs comply with requirements while maintaining test quality and coverage. Engage engineering teams, suppliers, and partners to uphold internal quality processes throughout development, execution, and verification. Conduct technical analysis, trade-off studies, and support FMEAs, design reviews, and customer presentations for defined features. Serve as the primary contact for related change requests and issue investigations. Collaborate closely with software, hardware, and testing teams to facilitate implementation and verification of defined features. Assist in defining and continuously improving systems engineering processes, methods, and tools. Document and share best practices. Mentor junior engineers and serve as a role model for BorgWarner's core beliefs. What We are looking for: A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field. Experience in applying Systems Engineering principles throughout the product lifecycle in one or more of the following areas: Development of automotive electronics systems, particularly sensors and actuators. Power electronics, especially motor drive inverters. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of requirements elicitation, analysis, definition, and management, along with experience using requirement management tools (e.g., Polarion) and process models such as A-SPICE. Familiarity with embedded software and/or hardware development. Experience with system modeling in SysML and/or MATLAB Simulink is a plus. Organized and detail-oriented work style. Fluency in English is required; proficiency in German and/or French is advantageous. Willingness to travel occasionally, both domestically and internationally.
