JOB TITLE: Systems Engineer
REPORTS TO: Team Lead
JOB LOCATION: Remote
TRAVEL: less than 10%
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The role of Systems Engineer primarily revolves around managing client-facing infrastructure, encompassing physical and virtual servers, routers, VPNs, and related components. These administrators also serve as a point of escalation for application specialists, addressing server-side issues and handling complex PC problems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Linux and Windows Server management
- VM setup
- Router setup
- Regular maintenance of the county's main Linux and Windows servers, including tasks like replicaon checks, UUCP verification, CWS management, and other routine maintenance duties
- WSUS troubleshooting on client machines
- Client upgrades
- Regular router maintenance
- McAfee checks for installations and threats
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE):
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to perform regular lifting or moving up to 25 pounds is required, with occasional lifting and/or moving up to 75 pounds. Team lifting or moving up to 650 pounds is necessary when dealing with heavy equipment, including but not limited to kiosks.
- Candidates should possess effective communication, customer service, and comprehensive knowledge of relevant Operating Systems and hardware. Additionally, proficiency in maintaining awareness of company software packages, diagnosing problems, equipment repair or replacement, project management, and scheduling skills are essential.
QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE):
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or S.) from four-year College or University
