Overall Assignment Description of the Expert Level Systems Engineer

Are you an Expert Systems Engineer looking for a challenging role? Join our team to lead engineering teams in a multi-discipline approach, ensuring timely and accurate GEOINT across the System of Geospatial-intelligence (NSG), Allied System of Geospatial-intelligence (ASG), and Federal Agencies.

Key Responsibilities of the Expert Level Systems Engineer

  • Leadership in Systems Engineering: Assist the Government in directing requirements engineering, solutions engineering, scheduling, reliability, resiliency, services development, integration, test and evaluation, maintainability, and analysis across multiple agencies.

  • Advanced Problem Solving: Analyze and automate existing systems, enhancing workflow efficiency, and addressing scheduling limitations. Advise the Government on solution designs based on analysis and new technology.

  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to strategic technical planning, project management, performance engineering, risk management, and interface design. Provide expert advice related to vision, strategy, plans, requirements, and process and capability development.

  • Systems Integration: Perform systems integration activities, coordinate Major Systems Acquisitions, and oversee the work of contractor Systems Engineers.

Required Skills and Experience of the Expert Level Systems Engineer

  • Top Secret SCI (TS/SCI) Security Clearance: This position requires a TS/SCI security clearance.

  • Master's Degree: Ideally in Systems Engineering or related technical fields such as engineering, physics, mathematics, operations research, engineering management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related STEM degree program. Alternatively, possess equivalent Expert-level experience as a Systems Engineer.

  • Extensive Experience: Demonstrate 18+ years of working experience in government or industry in relevant areas, including DoD/IC Acquisition Process, Requirements Process, PPBES Process, or system engineering of large complex System of Systems or Service-Oriented Architecture/Cloud environments.

  • Systems Engineering Lifecycle: Strong understanding and experience with the systems engineering lifecycle.

Desired Skills and Experience of the Expert Level Systems Engineer

  • Doctorate Degree: Possess a doctorate in Systems Engineering or a related technical field.

  • Advanced Certifications: Obtain advanced certifications such as Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Software Development Framework certification, and INCOSE Expert System Engineering Professional (ESEP) certification.

  • Professional Membership: Be a member or leader in professional organizations like ACSM, ASCE, ASPRS, OGC, SAREM, or USGIF.

  • Geospatial Intelligence: Extensive work experience in the field of geospatial intelligence.

  • Advanced Technology: Showcase expertise in engineering solutions using Cloud-Based Technology, Big Data, and Automation, Augmentation, and Artificial Intelligence technologies.

  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrate advanced knowledge in photogrammetry, remote sensing, image science, information sciences, geographic information systems, geomatics, or related fields.
