Job Description:

The Systems Engineer II will manage faculty activity and reporting through digital systems, serving as a data steward for the electronic faculty activity reporting system. Responsibilities include importing data from campus systems, modifying database configurations, creating report templates, generating data reports, and troubleshooting technical issues. The role requires collaboration with stakeholders to assess system effectiveness and ensure compliance with information confidentiality standards. The Systems Engineer II will act as a subject matter expert on faculty activity reporting and should have a strong understanding of faculty organization and administrative processes.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Manage the ticketing queue (significant portion of daily tasks); experience with ServiceNow (SNOW) is but not required.

  • Collaborate within a highly interactive team, including sharing work and explaining technical thought processes.

  • Requires comfort with collaborative environments and adapting to higher education structures and processes, which differ from corporate environments.

Other Details:

  • Remote Work: local candidates (hybrid schedule with monthly office visits). Fully remote candidates must work in CST and may need to travel to the office a few times annually at their own expense.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency with SQL (ability to write queries and conduct SQL research).

  • Experience with Interfolio.

  • Knowledge of information technologies, security, and privacy.

  • Proficiency in office productivity software and data analysis tools.

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.

Skills:

  • Experience with Access Management (IAM).

  • Familiarity with Saviynt (ID Governance tool).

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

  • Experience with database management, systems configuration, and data transfer.

  • Knowledge of programming or scripting .

  • Expertise in electronic survey software and data collection methods.
