Job Description:
The Air Force Lifecycle Management Center Defensive Cyber Systems Branch (AFLCMC/HNCD) serves as the program office for several defensive cyberspace weapon systems and capabilities, including Air Force (AF) Cyberspace Defense (ACD), Cyberspace Defense Analysis (CDA), Big Data Platform (BDP), and Cyber Vulnerability Assessment and Hunt (CVA/H). As a customer-based team this position will lead Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) engineering, integration, and testing to C5ISR systems and other initiatives. Completion of analyses, system requirements are thoroughly examined to ensure alignment with project goals. The findings and analysis are documented in a Systems Support Requirements Document for Government stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Systems Engineer, Senior duties include the following:
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for Air Force Cyber Vulnerability Assessment/Hunter (CVA/H) Weapon System (WS).
- Conduct initial troubleshooting and document resolution steps, escalating issues as necessary.
- Record and report network operations and maintenance activities.
- Troubleshoot network performance issues, analyze traffic, and monitor security devices.
- Perform recurring maintenance tasks and ensure smooth operation of computer systems.
- Manage system resources, including CPU and disk usage.
- Perform systems security administration functions and interact with users for hardware/software recommendations.
- Utilize ServiceNow for incident resolution and develop policies for resource allocation.
- Experienced in technical standards and theories, providing solutions to technical problems.
- Qualifications include Active Secret Clearance, familiarity with Air Force Cyber Weapon Systems and ServiceNow, ServiceNow Certified System Administrator, and experience with Air Force network topologies and Cyber Protection Team construct.
- Responsible for managing and maintaining Deployable Interceptor Platform (DIP) Kits for multiple Squadrons, conducting PMIs and diagnostics.
- Provide effective training and support different equipment across Combat Operations Squadrons (COS).
- Utilize a ticketing system to manage incidents and tasks.
- Cross-training promotes adaptability, collaboration, and efficiency within the organization.
Required skills/experience include:
- Ten (10) years relevant work experience.
- Managing key program elements, coordinating team contributions,
- developing systematic analyses, examining system requirements, and documenting findings.
- Active DoD Top Secret Clearance: with eligibility to obtain SCI.
- Familiarization with Air Force Cyber Weapon Systems
- Familiarization with Service Now
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator ()
- Experience with Air Force network topologies / architecture / infrastructure.
Education required:
- MA/MS Degree (Bachelor's degree and 8 years' work experience or associate degree plus 12 years' work experience may be substituted for a Master's degree).
- IAT level II certification with CE and an Industry recognized Operating Environment certification.
