We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Integration Engineer SSM for ISS Visiting Vehicles to join our JETS II contract team at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX.

If selected you will:

  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for the Communications and Tracking Sub-Systems of the ISS Visiting Vehicle Sub- Systems
  • Assess design compliance of the ISS Level 2 requirements to commercial providers
  • Maintain and update ISS Level 2 requirements including Verification Requirements and Interface Requirements Documents
  • Track and maintain requirement documents on task schedule
  • Support the ISS verification activities including verification objectives and procedures, end to end testing development and reviewing Verification Completion Notices (VCNs)
  • Develop and support sub-project requirement and verification data packages to support architecture requirements, design, verification/validation, operations, and sustaining engineering
  • Conduct product life cycle reviews, coordinate integration, verification and validation activities
  • Review verification and validation reports to verify compliance with requirements
  • Participate and contribute to system requirements reviews, preliminary design reviews and critical design reviews
  • Perform and review system level architecture trade studies and analyses that will influence the overall electrical design and performance
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Must have good communication and organizational skills and the ability to work in a team environment

Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • On location position - situational telework only
  • Knowledge and understanding of digital and analog RF communication systems such as RF basics, radio propagation, antennas, and modulation
  • Knowledge and understanding of SE&I processes, methodologies, tools and technologies including model based systems engineering
  • Knowledge of test principles, tools, and processes needed to develop test requirements
  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, and material selection.
  • Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings
  • Able to organize and prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervision
  • Experience working in a team environment


Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Flight Hardware and/or Flight Processes/Paperwork
  • Experience with NASA processes
