The Systems Network MSP Engineer at Seifert Technologies is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining efficient systems and network and security solutions to meet the needs of our customers. This role involves setting up and maintaining MSP infrastructure systems to support our customers, and also providing engineering-level services for our customers: analyzing their requirements, and engineering cost-effective and modern IT solutions. The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge of setting up infrastructure, including: infrastructure level switching and routing, Hypervisor hosts and virtual machines, and backup and disaster recovery systems. The candidate will need advanced troubleshooting skills, and excellent customer service abilities. This position requires a proactive approach to monitoring systems, and ensuring the reliability and security of systems and network operations.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Setup and Support
- Set up and maintain primary systems to support our MSP business
- Stay up to date on current technologies and packages leveraged by MSPs
- IT Equipment Setup and Troubleshooting:
- Set up or troubleshoot desktops, servers, switches, routers, firewalls, network printers, wireless access points, SANs, and other IT equipment.
- Backup and Disaster Recovery Management:
- Help determine the best solutions for the customer need.
- Help implement solutions.
- Help resolve escalated backup and disaster recovery issues.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Act as the primary contact for your customer base.
- Analyze customer needs and engineer solutions that are modern, efficient, and cost-effective according to their capabilities.
- Review, update, and maintain security processes.
- Go onsite to customers for projects or support, as needed or directed.
- Customer Communication:
- Provide clear, friendly, professional, and helpful communication with all stakeholders.
- Establish clear expectations regarding actions and timeframes for resolution.
- Ticket Management:
- Provide third-level troubleshooting for desktops, email, viruses, servers, routers, switches, security incidents, and other IT issues.
- Monitor and respond to escalated support tickets received via telephone, email, or remote monitoring tools.
- Share best practices and training with associates regarding issue resolution.
- Enter and update tickets in the ticket tracking system.
- Escalate complex issues to the appropriate tier or management.
- Ensure timely and accurate ticket closure.
- Time Management:
- Log work hours, including login/logout and lunch breaks, in the time management system.
- Track and enter all time and work details in ticket tracking system.
- Training and Certification:
- Share knowledge and train others.
- Continuously update and maintain approved IT certifications.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all processes and solutions.
- In-House Support:
- Provide internal IT support as needed.
- Other Duties:
- Perform additional tasks as required by management.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required, Associates or Bachelor’s degree .
- 5 years of experience in Systems Network MSP Engineering or a similar role.
- Certifications in A+, Network Essentials, Security Essentials, Microsoft desktop/server/365 certifications .
- Results-oriented with strong, friendly communication skills.
