HIRING NOW: Tax Director, R&D Credits - Tax Services

Location: REMOTE or HYBRID Available - Must be local to Irvine, CA | San Diego, CA | Seattle, WA | Portland, OR

• REMOTE or HYBRID Available: Our ideal candidate will be local to one of our offices for a hybrid-flexible remote schedule. You may work on-site from Irvine, CA; Portland, OR; Las Vegas, NV; San Diego, CA; Seattle, WA, or be fully remote within the U.S.

About the Role: We are seeking a high-performing Tax Director of R&D - Credits & Tax Services to join our team. This partner-track opportunity offers the chance to build and lead a growing practice with a focus on R&D tax credit consulting. The ideal candidate will have a deep technical background combined with strategic vision, exceptional communication skills, and leadership experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert consulting services related to R&D tax credits to internal and external clients.
• Lead and oversee R&D tax credit studies and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for additional services.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless engagement delivery, including research and technical documentation.
• Manage project timelines and budgets to deliver high-quality services.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws, industry trends, and state regulations relevant to R&D credits.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10+ years of experience managing R&D tax credit consulting projects within a major accounting firm, corporation, or law firm.
• A CPA license or JD is required in the candidate's home state.
• Bachelors degree is mandatory, MST or MSA from an accredited institution.
• Strong expertise in R&D tax deductions and credits, including Internal Revenue Code sections 174 & 41, and related regulations.
• Demonstrated success in managing multiple client engagements and leading service teams.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to interpret and present complex tax information effectively.
