Line Manager - Nuclear Material Control Operations\n\nLocation: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.\n\nPackage: £36,000 - £40,000 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience)\n\nWorking pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight. Just let us know your working pattern on your application.\n\nLet us introduce the role\n\nAWE is currently recruiting for a Line Manager - Nuclear Material Control Operations for the Nuclear Materials Control team working within our Operations function.\n\nAs a Line Manager of the Nuclear Material Control Team, you will:\n\nLead and line manage a team of direct reports,\nBe responsible for the development of staff, ensuring staff are trained and competent to carry out assigned tasks safely\nSupport the ongoing development of a diverse and inclusive working environment that allows individuals to flourish and realise their potential.\nSupport the delivery of people capability including:\nBusiness forecasting and headcount against current and future demand.\nResponsibility for ensuring skilled resources are available when required to support programme demands.

Interviewing as required\nManage Key Performance Indicator metrics on schedule, quality, safety, delivery and cost.\nActively engage and support the business performance process, including completing staff performance management reports\nLead in providing a diverse and inclusive working environment that allows individuals to flourish and realise their potential.\nWork with the task manager & NMOG Resource Manager to create resolutions at all levels and deal with escalated resourcing issues.\nAct as a role model to others by ensuring your own behaviours model the highest standard in Health and Safety and security.\nGive advice and guidance on career development including coaching, Mentoring provision of feedback and providing appropriate support. \n\nWhilst not to be considered a check list, candidates should be able to demonstrate some of the following:\n\nDegree or equivalent in management and development of personnel\nAn Institute of leadership and management (ILM) Certificate in Leadership and Management\nProfessional membership of Chartered Institute of professional Development (CIPD associate) or Chartered Management Institute (CMI Associate)\nEvidence of Line Management and Leadership experience.\nAbility to plan, prioritise and task workload, deliver in an organised manner and present results to senior managers.\nGood organisational, written, and verbal communication skills.\nStrong relationship building skills with the ability to influence.\nCapable of resolving problems including those arising through interaction with other sections/departments and external customers.\nProficient in MS Office applications including MS Word and Excel. \n\nMost importantly you will be working with a remarkable team supporting the delivery of extraordinary things, It will be an advantage If you have some of the following skills and experience:\n\nExperience of working within a highly regulated hazardous industry.\nKnowledge and movement of hazardous materials, Inventory Control, handling and storage \n\nSome reasons we think you'll love it here:\n\nAWE has wide range of benefits to suit you.

This will be funded by AWE. The nature of our work does mean you need to be a British who has been in the UK for the past 5 years in order to apply for SC clearance and 10 years for DV. \nWe want you to feel comfortable and able to shine during our recruitment process.

It is anticipated that the successful candidate will spend the majority of their time working on site at AWE Aldermaston.
