Technical Account Manager - Rail

Are you an account manager? Are you looking for a new challenge? We have a permanent position based in Stoke on Trent for a Technical Account Manager working for an ever-growing engineering business.



A Technical Account Manager who will work ensure the long-term success of our customers, by providing direct support to the UK Sales Manager of Rail. Responsible for developing and sustaining long-term relationships with assigned customers.  Develop a sales pipeline, identifying   customers’ future energy needs and projects, producing accurate quotes, upselling the client’s premium brand and successfully closing the deal.  Liaise between customers and cross-functional internal teams both in the UK and in Germany to ensure the timely and successful delivery of our products and solutions according to customer needs.



As a Technical Account Manager, you will be on a salary of up to £35000 per year, company car and health insurance, and will be a standard working week Monday to Friday.



Requirements of a Technical Account Manager:

Support the UK Sales Manager-RAIL in the role of technical advisor as the lead point of contact for all matters specific to customers and to build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.

Alongside the UK Sales Manager-RAIL develop and manage a pipeline of future projects, sales enquiries and provide written and verbal quotations in line with the pricing guide and other relevant sources. Follow up quotations and handle additional queries through to successful order placement.

Clearly communicate the customers’ requirements to internal and external stakeholders to ensure they are met and continual communication with customers to provide an update on their delivery.

Forecast and track key account metrics.

Identify and grow opportunities within territory and collaborate with all other internal teams to ensure growth targets are met in sales and service.

Assist with requests of high importance and escalate as required.

Experience and knowledge required:

Strong customer service focus with good interpersonal skills.

Clear and precise communication skills, both written and spoken.

Confident and assertive manner with good negotiation skills.

Experience in selling a premium product in a competitive market.

Knowledge of engineering or of a scientific discipline gained via training or working.

Ideally some experience of working in sales, preferably within a battery/ energy/ engineering business focused on rail market sector.

Commercial experience of pricing and quoting within a technical environment
