Technical Specialist - Robotics and Automation

Summary

 

As a technical engineer in the robotics and automation department, you will be responsible for analyzing and assessing robotics & automation opportunities that support Neom’s objectives across areas including but not limited to 3D printing, factory robotics and field robotics. This role requires exceptional analytical and written communication skills, project and stakeholder management skills, as well as technical and commercial acumen in the space of robotics and automation. 

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Strategy execution: Collaborate with senior management to execute the company's robotics and automation strategy, aligning operational activities align with overall business objectives
  • Project Management: support and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of robotics and automation projects, including scoping and procurement, planning, execution and supervision of initiatives in a timely and safe manner.
  • Team collaboration: collaborate with multiple stakeholder groups to execute on multi-disciplinary projects, across a team of high-performing team of robotics and automation professionals. Providing guidance and support to suppliers and contractors, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Technology Evaluation and Implementation: Identify emerging technologies and contractors, conduct feasibility studies, and make informed decisions on new automation systems, robotics components, and process optimization opportunities from both a technical and commercial perspective
  • Stakeholder Management: Cultivate and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to departments, sectors and cross-functional teams to identify robotics and automation needs, address challenges, and ensure seamless integration across all operational areas.
  • Performance Monitoring and Improvement: Track qualitative and quantitative performance of robotics opportunities, using key metrics and evaluation frameworks to track the effectiveness of robotics and automation initiatives. Analyze data insights to identify areas for improvement.

 

Knowledge and Experience

 

Role specific requirements

 

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of robotics and automation, 3D printing, construction management and processes, or factory-based modern methods of construction.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop value propositions, technical assessments and business cases, and translate ideas and opportunities into operational projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Robotics, Automation, construction management, or a related field.
  • Project management qualification desired
