Technical Support Engineer Urgently required for a very specialist equipment manufacturer based near Salisbury, You will be a skilled end experienced engineer who will be working from the main site base travelling to customer sites offering technical support, covering maintenance, calibration and contractual requirements relating to the company equipment on site.
The Field Service Engineer is responsible for our responses to customer and partner requests for support and application assistance of our products and services. You will own the processes and systems that capture, communicate, escalate, store, and retrieve information on this support. They are also responsible for training our staff and partner organization's on setting up, using, and servicing the products we make and sell.
This is a hands on role will require practical involvement with the instruments and equipment.
The role:
This role is the first customer point of contact for all technical enquiries regarding our products.
Dealing with preventive maintenance, contracts, and calibration matters.
Responding to customer enquiries and questions promptly and always keeping them updated.
Use and maintain clean data in company systems such as (E-mail, CRM, ERP and others).
Ensuring customer issues are lodged correctly within the customer feedback system and escalated as required.
Visiting UK Customer sites as/when required in a technical capacity, including calibration days and trade shows.
Provide application information for customers regarding which method/equipment is recommended.
Fault-finding instruments and performing basic level repairs.
Assisting the customer feedback resolution team when reviewing product quality issues.
Tasks and projects the Technical Support Manager sets out in line with your job role as a Technical Support Engineer.
Collecting qualitative and quantitative information from our customers to provide actionable feedback for ongoing and future product development.
Providing suitable training to partners and customers via various media, including online and in-person, to ensure that we maximise the volume of customer issues that can be resolved at the point of use or with local partners. Reducing the volume of issues that are escalated to us as the manufacturer.Travel is essential, and you must be willing to drive yourself to our sites around the UK. A Company pool car/van will be made available for work-related trips as necessary.
Limited 'out-of-hours' involvement with customers may also be required, both in the UK and abroad, and some nights away from home will be necessary.
