Technical Waste Assessor needed in Merseyside. A minimum of HNC in chemistry is required with ideally a working knowledge of waste-related legislation, but not essential.

SRG are working with a leading privately owned large waste management company who are now looking for a Technical Waste Assessor. You will play a crucial role in evaluating their technical operations to ensure compliance with all relevant accreditation requirements. You will assess the validity of technical operations, the appropriateness of equipment, and the competence of their staff. This role requires close interaction with their Sales Team and direct communication with customers. A strong focus on health & safety and compliance is essential. While previous experience is desirable, they will provide full training and opportunities for development.

Role/Description
Ensure correct classification of all incoming and outgoing waste, maintaining an auditable trail of records
Follow site procedures for pre-acceptance, acceptance, sampling, and compatibility to assess waste enquiries
Log all necessary information for quoting, transport, and acceptance on the system
Understand site processing capabilities to enable proper waste routing
Ensure compliance of all waste quotes with site permits and waste management licenses
Liaise closely with Central Customer Services, Sales, and Operational functions for smooth operations
Advise on transport, labelling, and consignment note requirements
Assist with maintaining and controlling site management systems, including document control and data preparationRequirements
Degree or HNC in chemistry
Knowledge of waste-related legislation, including Hazardous Waste Regulations, PPC, TFS and ADR is highly desirable, but not essential
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Committed, flexible, and pragmatic team player
Professional approach with a positive attitude
Working knowledge of Waste Treatment Processing Plant operations is desirable
Good understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements is desirable
