Telecoms Design Engineer

Role:            Telecoms Design Engineer (Outside of IR35 or PAYE/Umbrella if preferred)
Based:          St.Neots, Cambridgeshire PE19
Duration:       Ongoing
Rate:            Negotiable

Our client is seeking 2 experienced Telecoms Design Engineers to work on an ongoing contract.

The role will include: Telecoms Design
Creating, modify, and analyse the design of equipment, systems or installations, including specifications for manufacturing, fabrication or construction on assignments of medium to high complexity using established solutions.
Ensure the creation of customised designs with high priority on identification and control of hazards.
Contributes to design reviews and verification following established QA/QC process, provides feedback on design aspects and makes necessary modifications.
Optimise designs to meet updated standards, incorporating new products, components, and functionalities.

  • Excellent knowledge of National and International Telecommunications Standards and Specifications.
  • Significant documented experience with the design of Telecommunication Systems:
    PAGA
    Telephony
    LAN / WAN / WLAN
    Radio – UHF / TETRA / VHF
    Closed Circuit Television (CCTV)
    Access Control Systems
    Integrated Security Management Systems
    Automatic Identification System
    Collision Avoidance Radar Systems
    Bird Deterrent Systems
    Meteorological Weather Monitoring Systems
    Radar Transponder Beacon (RACON)
    Structured Cabling System (SCS) CAT6 / CAT6A
    Fibre Optic Cabling
  • Experience in the preparation of technical document deliverables:
  • Functional Design Specifications, Operation and Maintenance Manuals, Main Equipment Lists, Bill of Materials, Power & Heat Calculations, Radio and Wireless LAN Desktop Studies, CCTV Coverage Studies, Telecommunication Systems Block Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams and Layout Drawings.
  • BICSI Installer 2 Copper and Optical Fibre Certification
  • Degree qualified or suitable documented experience of no less than 5 years.

Experience: Telecoms Design

  • Experience setting up and preparing for Telecommunication Systems Factory Acceptance Testing
  • Installation and Commissioning experience onshore and offshore in an Oil & Gas / Petrochemical environment
  • Full time availability for 6 months minimum
  • Current Passport with minimum 12 months before expiry.

Desirable:

  • Basic Offshore Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) with Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS) UK and Netherlands Sector.
