Telecoms Field Engineer / Electrician
Contract - 6 months - extendable - Outside IR35
Location - Covering Central / Southern Scotland
Rates £300-£350 per day
Responsible for the successful delivery of various projects and maintenance of the SPEN telecoms network across Central and South Scotland. The role involves installation & commissioning and first line reactive maintenance. Previous experience working as a field engineer/electrician in the telecoms sector, along with knowledge of working within some of the following - data centres, telephone exchanges, fibre exchanges, PCPs, DSLAMs, customer HUB/outstation sites or substations. Knowledge of IP networks, Cisco, Alcatel & Nokia devices. Rack, charger and telecoms equipment installation & commissioning to an excellent standard. Wiring and connection of AC & DC power to telecoms equipment to required standards and regulations. 1st Line Support and troubleshooting of customer equipment. Data room, data centre and substation works. Routine maintenance inspections on spare fibres and battery chargers. Completion of site surveys to enable installation.
Essential Skills….
* SPEN Authorisations would be highly desirable
* City and Guilds 2391 Inspect and Test
* Full Driving Licence
* Level 3 electrical installation
