Position: Electrical Test Engineer – Electronic Systems Power Converters

Location: Baltimore, Md.

Salary: Based on experience

Industry: Electronics / Space / Defense

Our Client, an Electronics Company in the Power Systems Division, is seeking a highly motivated Test Engineer specializing in assembly and testing of power electronic systems and components and/or industrial electronics.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assembly of line replaceable units for testing, portable test carts, and running of test stands

• Testing of large energy storage systems and industrial electronic systems

• Writing of test plans and test procedures in support of developed hardware

• Perform field installations, testing, troubleshooting of hardware and equipment software

• Development of wiring diagrams of the test facility and individual test carts

• Experience with medium voltage power distribution and testing of power electronic converters (dc/dc, dc/ac, gate driver PCBs) highly desirable

Education and Experience:

• Must Have 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

• 5+ years of hands-on hardware build and test experience

• United States Citizenship required due to US Government ITAR program restrictions

• Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance

· Working with large energy storage systems

· Working knowledge of PLC systems

· Past military experience (veteran)

Immediate Requirements/Projects include:

• Building of large energy storage system utilizing batteries and power electronic converters

• Assembly work of 100 kW+ power electronic building blocks

• Assembly of integrated test carts with data acquisition system, device under test, power source/load integration, and thermal management system components

• Development of test plans, test procedures, and custom test scripts in support of DoD applications

Flexible schedules are available and can vary on a week-to-week basis
