We are currently hiring for a TIG Welder in our Boise location. This position will use circumferential and longitudinal TIG welders to weld fine mesh assemblies to drawing and job card specifications. This role is critical in the production of high quality filters. The TIG Welder will utilize machining and welding equipment, assembly fixturing, and measurement equipment to ensure product is made to the customer specifications.

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Set up TIG welding equipment and prepare materials for welding.
  • Comprehend drawings and process specifications required to fabricate high tolerance, complex parts while showcasing a clear knowledge of welding symbols, welding definitions, and terminology.
  • Perform TIG welding on various metals according to blueprints, job cards, technical/engineering drawings, and other specifications.
  • Produce and verify work according to production schedule and specified requirements: Ensure high-quality and precise welds, minimizing contamination and defects.
  • Monitor the welding process to maintain quality and safety standards.
  • Inspect completed welds for structural integrity and finish quality.
  • Collaborate with the production lead (i.e. engineering team) to develop manufacturing routings and tooling, as required.
  • Meet targets for safety, quality, on time delivery, productivity, and costs in ways that include, but are not limited to properly utilizing inspection equipment, drafting welding instructions, defining
    testing requirements, making trial welds, creating experimental products, and/or preparing reports for conformance to codes, other standards, or other documents for both internal and external compliance entities.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of welding equipment prior to use to ensure compliance with traveler specifications.
  • Report production output accurately.
  • Follow Quality Management System (QMS) protocols and ensure a clean work environment.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Training Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year of experience in a manual machine shop environment
  • Strong knowledge of TIG welding techniques and experience working with various metals
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
  • Commitment to safety and quality in welding practices
  • Pre-test required.

Work Environment: Practical and collaborative; manufacturing/warehouse environment; The typical workday can range from 8 – 10 hours. Overtime and working weekends may be required with short notice.

Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and lift materials or components (up to 50+ lbs.).
