TIG Welder Fabricator (1st and 2nd shift)

The last 37 years, our mission is to manufacture and deliver the highest-quality parts to our customers. We are searching for a candidate to weld manufactured parts using various welding methods. May be required to set up jigs and or welding fixtures. Required to locate positions as specified on blueprints and weld parts in sequence using TIG and welding equipment while frequently checking product quality. Candidate must have experience welding aluminum and light gauge stainless steels. You must be detail oriented, analytical, quality-conscious, organized, a problem solver and an effective communicator to join our team.

Duties:

· Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.

· Measures, marks, and scribes’ dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.

· Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.

· Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.

· Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.

· Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.

· Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly.

· Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly.

Skills:

· One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Good understanding of quality control principles

· Must be able to understand and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.

· Must be able to maintain tight tolerances down to .01 of an inch.

· Knowledgeable in selecting the proper electrode and filler metal and making the correct settings for heat range, amperage control and gas mixture on the welder.

· Experienced in the use of hand tools and power tools including grinders for weld preparation and completion as is required to maintain a high standard of cosmetic appearance.

· Inspects work using precision measuring instruments

· Must be able to work with little to no supervision

· Ability to work efficiently under pressure.

· Ability to lift to 50 lbs. bend, sit, and stand repeatedly

· Must provide your own helmet, protective leathers, tape measure, calipers, square and basic hand tools.

· Good communication skills (verbal and written)

· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
