We are seeking a Tool and Die Project Manager to join a local machining manufacturing company on the northside of Milwaukee for a direct hire.

Pay: $80,000 - 100,000

Job Summary: Under the direction of the Vice President/General Manager, the Tool & Die Sr. Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all phases of metal stamping tooling projects, from design concept to final delivery. This role demands in-depth understanding of metal stamping die design and build processes, stamping processes, leadership skills, and a proactive approach to risk management. The ideal candidate excels in cross-functional team collaboration, can manage tight deadlines, and consistently delivers successful project outcomes Management of personnel; input in hiring/firing, coaching/mentoring, training requirements, corrective and disciplinary actions.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Project Leadership: Manage end-to-end project timelines, resources, budgets, and deliverables for complex tooling projects, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and company standards. Multi-task many issues and job at the same time; adjust working schedule to workloads of the shop.
• Technical Oversight: Review technical specifications, engineering drawings, and models to assess project feasibility. Create design concepts, lead and review designs throughout the process, and lead kickoff at the start of manufacturing. Be a resource for metal stamping die build process and support shop floor for complex issues. Proactively identify potential challenges, and ensure all requirements are met
• Customer Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for customers, providing clear communication, managing expectations, and resolving any project-related issues to ensure customer satisfaction
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, quality control, sales, and management to facilitate seamless project execution and resolve any cross-functional issues that may arise. Actively participate in team meetings, Act as liaison between shop and management. Commits to corporate core values, goals, mission and vision.
• Budget and Cost Management: Monitor project fiscal and hours budgets, track costs, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality. Create relationships with outside vendors
• Quality Assurance: Work with quality manager to ensure that all phases of the project adhere to quality standards, meet print tolerances, and industry regulations including ISO9001.
• Risk Management & Mitigation: Identify potential risks early in the process, create contingency plans, and adjust project scope as needed to meet timelines and quality expectations.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed project documentation, generate progress reports, keep design log including any changes and provide updates to customers and senior management as needed
• Ability to work overtime when needed; Job typically requires 50 hours/week
• Support the company's quality policy, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, 5S practices, LEAN and world class manufacturing initiatives.
• Travel, as required.

Required Education / Experience / Skills:
• Education: High School Diploma
• Experience and/or Training:
• 8-10 years prior experience in tool & die, metal stamping, or related field with at least 5 years of project management experience; industry knowledge.
• Extensive technical knowledge and understanding of stamping die construction, manufacturing processes, GD &T, and materials
• Proven track record of leading complex projects with multiple cross-functional teams
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and direct team members to achieve project objectives. Prior supervisory experience.
• Interpersonal skills dealing with conflict resolution.
Technology/Equipment: Microsoft applications, AutoCAD, Solidworks, intermediate computer
