Job Summary:
This position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and participates in the overall administration of the plant. This position also assists in process troubleshooting repairs, analyzing specifications, laying out metal stock, setting up and operating machine tools, and fitting and assembling parts to make and repair dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and machinist’s hand tools. Will also support setting up, maintaining and operating equipment in a manufacturing and assembling environment. Implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
Duties and responsibilities
Include the following, but other duties may be assigned by Management
- Perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair production machines and the plant facility’s equipment including preventative maintenance
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
- Perform machinist duties and responsibilities - Prep tooling for production, sharpen tooling, knifes, punches, make new details. Repairs or modifies tools and dies, using Vertical Mill, Horizontal Mill, Drill Press, Lather, Surface Grinder, and hand tools.
- Perform basic sheet metal fab for machine guarding
- Manage Tool Room Activities under direction from Engineering Manager
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties
- Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas mitigate the safety and health factors in all processes. Perform accident investigations/reports.
- Reading and maintaining electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics and part blueprints
- Training
- Participate in business planning meetings to plan out activities in future periods.
- Monitor production process.
- Create, implement, and enforce standard operating procedures for maintenance and setup
- Supporting engineering department
- Supporting the maintenance department
Qualifications
Qualifications include:
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED Certificate
- Minimum of five years’ experience in manufacturing; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC knowledge.
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Good organizational, time management, problem solving skills and the ability to work accurately and meet deadlines with frequent interruptions
- Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team Functional knowledge of instruments, such as protractors, micrometers, scribes, calipers, scales, tape measures
- Minimum of one year’ experience in tool making
- Minimum of eighteen (18) years of
- Ability to perform the listed physical activities: Lifting, sitting, standing, twisting, bending.

- Prefer a working knowledge of Windows Operating System
