Joining us in Financial Services Business Risk Services (FS BRS)

Grant Thornton’s Financial Services Business Risk Services (FS BRS) team provides market-leading risk, control and governance services to the financial services industry, working with clients from the insurance, banking and investment management industries and beyond. We are an advisor and trusted service provider to many of the world’s largest investment and wholesale banks, and market leading professional trading and broking firms. We work with the business, control officers, risk and compliance managers and independent reviewers and auditors to bring controls into line with the changing nature of financial markets.
Joining the Agile Talent Community as a Trading Risk & Controls Specialist, you will have the freedom to work on projects that you choose, whether full or part-time within the FS BRS and support our clients and internal teams on short to medium-term assignments.
Skills we are looking for
- In depth experience of sales & trading controls gained in a large investment bank or a similar consultancy.
- 1st Line of Defense experience working in one or more of the main asset classes
- Familiarity with trading platforms, order management systems, and electronic trading tools
- Development and implementation of standards, policies and procedures for trading booking models
- Experience with designing and implementing trading controls, including limit calibration and management information
- Knowledge of US, EU, UK regulations for investment and markets activity
It would also be helpful but not essential to have experience of:
- Trading and risk taking in previous roles within large financial institutions
- Large data set analysis using common tools and management information design and implementation
- Electronic and algorithmic regulations, with experience of attestation and review processes
- Participating in s166, US Consent Order reviews or remediation
