Transport Planner

Job Description

DNA Recruitment Solutions are recruiting an experienced Transport Planner with CPC to join our client's team in Stockton-On-Tees. The ideal candidate will be driven and ambitious, have excellent organisational skills and a background in liquid logistics planning and fleet management.

The Role

• Manage driver hours/WTD and route optimisation

\n

• Plan all vehicle routes cost effectively

\n

• Demonstrate excellent customer service levels

\n

• Keep up to date with all relevant legislation

\n

• Ensure sufficient resource available - drivers, vehicles, trailers etc

\n

• Liaising with third party contractors and suppliers

\n

• Complete and process relevant documentation and drivers' paperwork

\n

• Respond to telephone and email enquiries in a timely manner, maintaining a friendly, suppportive and professional service

\n

• Keep customers informed of delays/issues etc

\n

Requirements

\n

\n
• Transport Manager CPC or the desire to work towards it would be beneficial for this role

\n

• Knowledge of planning systems and processes

\n

• Experience in a similar role with planning and fleet management

\n

• Strong communication skills both written and verbal

\n

• Able to work under pressure and to time critical deadlines

\n

• Strong IT skills, comfortable using MS packages, particularly Excel and Word

\n

• Able to multitask and prioritise without compromising results

\n

• Seek continual improvement

\n

• Experience in Liquid, Bulk or Chemical Logistics essential

\n

• Experience of third party logistics and service partners

\n
