The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service management, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to adapt to different environments while ensuring consistency in quality, safety, and efficiency. This role requires frequent travel and the ability to effectively manage teams in diverse settings.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and supervision to food service staff at various correctional facilities, ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Conduct regular visits and inspections to assess the performance of kitchen operations, including food preparation, meal service, sanitation, and safety practices.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff on food safety protocols, cooking techniques, and operational procedures, ensuring consistency and adherence to quality standards.
  • Coordinate with central management and facility administrators to ensure proper staffing levels, inventory management, and budgetary compliance.
  • Monitor inventory levels and procurement processes, providing guidance on ordering, receiving, and storing food supplies to minimize waste and ensure availability.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to food production, inventory management, staffing, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison between facility staff, central management, and external stakeholders to facilitate communication and address any operational challenges or opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure that all food service activities comply with security protocols, including proper handling of utensils, equipment, and supplies, to prevent unauthorized access or potential security risks.

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and kitchen operations.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate teams in diverse environments.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to address operational challenges and implement solutions.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel frequently, sometimes on short notice, to various correctional facilities within the organization.
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Office and food service management software.
  • Willingness to undergo background checks and security clearance as required for employment in a correctional facility.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively as part of the job requirement

Other Requirements:

  • Must pass a background check and comply with facility security protocols.
  • Ability to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Must be able to travel up to 100% of the time and stay in hotels while traveling.
  • Work is performed in a correctional facility kitchen, which may involve exposure to loud noises and varying temperatures.
  • Adherence to facility security and safety measures is mandatory.
