  • \t\tProvide utility engineering and system operational leadership for the safe, reliable, efficient and economical delivery of steam, chilled water, natural gas, water and sewer services to campus.  \t

  • \t\tDesign system expansions to support campus growth and address maintenance issues.   \t
    \t
  • \t\tReview and update mechanical distribution system master plans and identify capital funding required to sustain and improve campus utilities.  \t
    \t
  • \t\tSchedule and implement 5-year mechanical distribution capital plans and deferred maintenance issues, and develop utility betterment projects.  \t
    \t
  • \t\tOversee mechanical distribution operations, workgroup budgets and expenditures, audit projects to ensure efficiencies and identify opportunities for improvement.  \t
    \t
  • \t\tProvide mechanical distribution technical expertise to FP&M workgroups, campus departments, and external engineering design consultants.  \t

\tLevel Guidelines \t• Expert-level position possessing advanced professional and/or technical skills working under limited or no supervision \t• Applies high-level professional knowledge and expertise to focus on ISU’s mission and meeting division, department or work unit goals \t• Solves complex issues using highly-developed problem resolution skills \t• Regularly provides recommendations regarding problems/issues outside the bounds of defined procedures and practices \t• Utilizes high-level professional knowledge and expertise to provide guidance, recommendations, and set standards related to strategy, policy, and mission \t• Leads projects of moderate to high scope and complexity with broad impact \t• May provide supervision to other department staff (i.e., leads a small work team)   Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.   What to know about Ames  Ames, Iowa, offers an outstanding quality of life.
