Utilities Engineer
Roles and responsibilities As a Wet Utilities Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, coordination, specification, code compliance of the Civil/ME Engineering, hydraulic or related field. You will be involved in the design and analysis of Fire water, potable water, irrigation water, sanitary wastewater and industrial wastewater (foul water) network. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with BIM team to prepare 3D models and 2D layouts and multidisciplinary coordination for clash resolution in NAVISWORKS, REVIT & REVITZO. You will play a crucial role in understand their needs, present design proposals, and provide technical support and recommendations alongside collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. You will be empowered to contribute to the design development process, including concept development, detailed design, and engineering calculations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, architects, electrical engineers, and construction teams. Here's what you'll need You will be U.A.E National that holds an accredited Bachelor’s Civil / Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree from a recognized institution. Demonstrated experience in NAVISWORKS, REVIT & REVITZO. Knowledge of standards like Saudi Building Codes (SBC), Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA), Abu Dhabi Civil Defense (ADCD), International Building Code (IBC) & NFPA etc. Knowledge Hydraulic modeling with Sewergem, Water CAD and equivalent industry standard software. You are creative, self-motivated, and work well in dynamic, yet changing environment. Desired candidate profile A Wet Utilities Engineer specializes in the design and management of water and wastewater systems, including drinking water distribution, sewage collection, and stormwater management. Here are key skills and attributes essential for this role: Technical Knowledge : Strong understanding of wet utilities engineering principles, including hydraulics, fluid mechanics, and water quality management. Design Software Proficiency : Expertise in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydraulic modeling tools (e.g., HEC-RAS, EPANET) for designing utility systems. Regulatory Compliance : Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations and standards related to water and wastewater management (e.g., EPA guidelines). Hydraulic Analysis Skills : Ability to perform hydraulic calculations and simulations to ensure efficient flow and pressure in water distribution systems. Environmental Awareness : Understanding of environmental impacts related to wet utilities and the ability to incorporate sustainable practices in design. Project Management : Skills in planning, organizing, and managing utility projects from concept through implementation, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery. Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to address design challenges and optimize utility performance. Communication Skills : Effective verbal and written communication abilities to present designs and collaborate with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies. Field Experience : Practical knowledge of construction methods and maintenance practices related to wet utilities to ensure designs are feasible and practical. Collaboration : Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineers, environmental scientists, and urban planners.
