Utilities Manager

Client and Stakeholder Engagement. 1. Project Oversight: Lead and manage the design of utility infrastructure projects, including water, wastewater, stormwater, and power systems. Oversee the planning, design, and execution phases of utility projects to ensure they meet technical specifications and regulations. 2. Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of engineers and designers, providing guidance on best practices and technical standards. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and professional development. 3. Design Coordination: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including architects, civil engineers, and regulatory agencies, to ensure integrated project delivery. Review and approve design plans, specifications, and calculations to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements. 4. Quality Assurance: Implement quality control processes to ensure that designs are accurate, cost-effective, and sustainable. Conduct regular design reviews and assessments to identify areas for improvement. 5. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all utility designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations and standards. Coordinate with regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits and approvals. Results-driven and committed to delivering high-quality projects. Proactive and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Ability to foster a positive and collaborative team environment. Desired candidate profile Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from a recognized university Chartered engineer status from an internationally recognized organization. Minimum 15 years of related field engineering experience with at least 5 years of local Qatar experience. Broad general engineering background and previous supervisory experience in a project engineering role is required. Hands on experience in delivering roadway & infrastructure projects. The Design Manager (DM) shall be able to independently lead the team to carry out designs of Wet Utilities distribution systems like potable water, foul sewer, TSE, and drainage networks. Aware of Ashghal Drainage Network Design Department standards for government and large private developments projects. Shall be conversant with the British and American codes and regulations for the potable water, irrigation and sanitary sewer designs. Shall have experience of liaising with Qatar stakeholders for obtaining NOCs and Design Approvals, etc. Familiarity with the requirements for the hydraulic design for the Pump stations. Shall have good experience in creating utility cross sections as per requirements of local authorities in Qatar. Proven ability to perform in a supervisory capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required. Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project.
