Responsibilities Uzbek Linguist and Cultural Advisor - Al Udeid AB - Qatar TS/SCI This position is in Doha, Qatar at Al Udeid AB. Peraton is seeking an Uzbek Linguist and Cultural Advisor (CULAD) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting a large program. This position is in Qatar. The Uzbek Linguist/CULAD will provide continuous monitoring, expert analysis, and assessment of global, regional, and tailored area geopolitical media and news sources. The position is an unaccompanied one-year assignment that can be extended by the customer and if elected by the individual chosen to provide support. You'll have the opportunity to: Gather information on trends, behaviors, events and directed global developments to generate media synopsis reports and assessments of local geopolitics and foreign media discourse. Provide expert advice to DoD/MIL leadership of social media influence operations, draft policy, doctrine, decisions, trends concepts, and studies. Produce predictive recommendations and identify anticipated strategic communications opportunities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop marketing and support communications plans. Monitor industry and technology trends in traditional, digital, social, mobile media. Use directed, or design research methods appropriate to pre-defined client criteria. Interpret and analyze oral and written source material such as classified reports, data, briefings, and conversations. Provide cultural expertise in written or oral form in both Uzbek and US English. Analyze data for coded patterns of information. Interpret data for information for a range of deductions encompassing breadth of subjects. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Must possess a bachelor's degree and at least of 8 years of experience or a master's degree a 6 years of experience, 3 years with PhD. (Four years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree). Five years of experience as a researcher monitoring media and providing analysis of trends, political events, and geopolitical impacts. A minimum of 5 years working or living within the CCMD AOR. Superior Uzbek reading, writing, and speaking skills. Must possess an expertise of the Uzbekistan.geopolitical and religious situation and able to speak/read/write Uzbek. Good overall understanding of neighboring countries and influence of Uzbekistan. Must be knowledgeable of Uzbek target audiences, popular culture, and favorite social media platforms. Previous experience with US Military forces in a direct supporting role to MISO/IO/IW/IRCs. Ability to provide high quality presentations and work with small and large groups. Have an in depth understanding of the cultural differences, nuances, customs, symbolism, mannerisms, and traditions of the various ethnic groups residing throughout the region. Excellent oral, written, and electronic communication in English. Demonstrated capability to work with Microsoft Office applications, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must have DoD Top Secret and ability to obtain SCI. Must possess a valid US Passport, not expiring within 6 months. Must be fully eligible for Qatar Visa. Must be willing and able to deploy and abide by required COVID quarantine requirements. Preferred Qualifications: Recent Native Cultural Experience. Have a current and Active DoD TS with SCI eligibility. Experience with Information Operations. Broad Experience as a media monitor/researcher for the DoD. A minimum of passing 4/4/4 testing scores both in English and Uzbek. Target Salary Range $112,000 - $179,000.
