Clair Global Integration is seeking a A/V Field Engineer to join our growing company. The AV Field Engineer is responsible for overseeing the preparation, coordination, and installation of various AV systems.
QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the essential functions of this job while exercising independent judgment and discretion.
- Thorough understanding of design, integration, and operation of Audio and Video systems
- Ability to read shop drawings, material lists, and documents that support the construction, and commissioning phases of a project
- Thorough understanding of network topology and protocols, including V-LAN's, QOS, Multicast, Unicast, and basic network terminology
- Experience in Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to assist others and communicate effectively in person and over the phone
- Ability to work on and navigate a construction site
- Ability to apply critical thinking and have a flexible schedule as needed to serve the client's needs
EXPERIENCE:
- Associates Degree in Audio, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or another related field - .
- 3-7 years' experience in AV engineering, installation, operation, and control systems integration and commissioning
- AVIXA CTS certification, or CTS-I certification
- OSHA 10 or 30 hour
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Perform onsite coordination, installation, programming, testing and verification for a variety of projects that include audio, video, broadcast cable, lighting, video production systems, networking, and control systems
- Assist in design, engineering, and production of the project design or construction documentation as required
- Understand A/V construction drawings to include floor plans, RCP's, room details, rigging details, riser diagrams, functional diagrams, and others as needed
- Provide onsite coordination of structural, BIM, MEP or other trades, and Life Safety requirements as required
- Continue to maintain technical capabilities and certifications in the following technical areas: networks, audio/video, and broadcast industries and technologies that support these diverse systems
- Assist with CAD related tasks as required to include creating project drawing or as-built packages, documentation and/or file management
- Perform service and warranty work as necessary, including system troubleshooting, problem identification, and correction.
- Understand project scope of work, equipment, specifications, and shop drawings
- Follow testing and verifications plans and generate reports per contract requirements
- Perform on site job visits to review installations, lead in system testing and verification, equipment configuration, system programming test out, system turn on, assist in acceptance and commissioning, and client training as required
- May require 20-60% travel
