The Role\n\nAs the Vocational Curriculum Manager, you will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of our vocational training programs at HMP Millsike.\n\nHMP Millsike is a brand new prison based in Full Sutton, opening in Spring 2025. The Curriculum Manager will join the team Winter 2024 to lead on development and mobilisation ready for go live in Spring.\n\nThe ideal candidate will have a strong background in vocational education, a passion for rehabilitation through skills development, and an understanding of the unique challenges faced by learners in prison.\n\nThe Vocational Curriculum Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring our curriculum meets industry standards, aligns with employment opportunities, and addresses the needs of our learners. This role will be accountable to the Education DSM for the effective management of the vocational curriculum and to take the establishment lead for quality assurance and improvement within your curriculum area.\n\nInterviews for this role will run wc 9th or wc 16th September.\n\nThe role:\n\nCurriculum Development: Design and develop comprehensive vocational training programs that cover a range of trades and skills, ensuring they are relevant, engaging, and tailored to the needs of the prison population.\n \nQuality Assurance: Implement and maintain rigorous quality assurance processes to ensure high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment.

Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of the vocational programs and make necessary adjustments.\n \nTeam Leadership: Lead, support, and mentor a team of vocational tutors and instructors, providing guidance, training, and professional development opportunities. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.\n \nCompliance and Standards: Ensure all vocational programs comply with relevant regulatory and awarding body requirements. To be responsible for the high standard and timely completion of all internal verification and moderation processes within vocational training, working with, trainer’s assessors, IQAs, EQAs and Awarding Organisations.\n \nLearner Support: Develop and implement strategies to support learners with varying abilities and backgrounds, including those with additional learning needs, ensuring starting points are used.
