Responsibilities:


 





Job Summary





 





The Welder is responsible for installing and welding natural gas, steel pipelines, and fittings. This position supports the Line team and works with personnel in the field and within the department.





Operate jobsite equipment safely.





Utilize MIG, as well as some TIG and Stick welding techniques





Perform welding of steel pipelines and fittings primarily onto utility equipment.





Rebuilding numerous builds and hydraulics





Work as Mechanic when needed





Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.





Qualifications:


Minimum





High school diploma, or equivalent





2 years of welding experience on UTILITY EQUIPMENT 





Competent in MIG/TIG AND Stick welding and cutting techniques





Abiltity to read blueprints/schematics  





Be mechanically inclined 





Willingness to learn





Ability to work in inclement weather at times





Ability to meet physical demands (see below)





Ability to work schedule - M - F; 7am - 5:30pm





CDL Class A/B or Ability to receive within 90 days of employment











3 years or more of welding experience.





Stick welding certification.





DOT Operator Qualification.





Physical Demands and Work Environment 





This job operates in a shop and field environment. This role routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting. Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.  





 





The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is physically active, with lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more or 20 inches or less, with the ability to judge distance and space relationships. Precise hand-eye coordination. Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
